The Fun & Serious Game Festival in Bilbao, Spain, has been a staple event for the gaming industry, but as the conference evolved, it required a bold rebrand to reflect its new focus on professional gaming and technological innovation.
I proposed and led the rebranding, starting with the creation of a new name: BIG Fest (Bilbao International Game Festival). The name BIG was inspired by Bilbao’s well-known identity as a city that takes pride in doing things on a large scale—whether in industry, culture, or innovation. The new identity aimed to reflect both the city’s roots and the event’s global ambition.

As the Art Director, I developed the full visual identity for the event. The goal was to establish a cohesive, modern, and professional visual identity that resonated with industry professionals while also connecting with the gaming community.



The typography was selected for its clean, modern appearance and readability. A bold sans-serif typeface was chosen to provide clarity and professionalism across a range of materials. It paired perfectly with the angular shapes and dynamic design elements of the logo.
The brand’s color palette, featuring purple and orange gradients, was designed to evoke energy, creativity, and excitement. These colors are frequently associated with the gaming world and help establish an immediate emotional connection with the audience, while also reinforcing the conference’s innovative spirit.
The rebranding extended to all event materials, ensuring that the identity was consistent and cohesive across all touchpoints. From print to digital, every element was crafted to create a unified experience for attendees, sponsors, and speakers.

Upward Arrow Award
A key visual element is the award design, which takes the form of an upward-pointing arrow. The arrow symbolizes growth, achievement, and the idea of “leveling up”—a theme that resonates deeply within the gaming community. The design communicates the spirit of progression and success that the conference celebrates.

Lanyard & Event Materials
The lanyards and event collateral extend the visual identity, incorporating the sharp, geometric shapes from the logo and using the gradient colors to create a unified, memorable experience for attendees. The materials were designed to be functional, stylish, and consistent with the modern, industrial aesthetic of the conference.
